Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke's fine form could pose a problem for Ange Postecoglou.

Solanke is really beginning to find his feet in North London.

His most recent appearance in a Spurs shirt marked perhaps his best performance for the club yet.

Postecoglou's side enjoyed a 4-1 Premier League victory over Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (3 November), with Solanke hailed for his goalscoring display after full-time.

As a result, the forward has once again received an England call-up ahead of the November international break (via BBC Sport, 7 November).

While this seems like a good thing on the surface and a massive confidence booster for Solanke, it could pose a problem for Postecoglou.

Ange Postecoglou to be concerned after England call-up for Tottenham star Dominic Solanke?

Solanke was brilliant against Unai Emery's side last time out.

In addition to his two goals scored, and the 1.52xG that he generated, he also had a further shot on target as well as one which was blocked and one which missed the target (Sofascore).

He was a constant threat for the Villa backline, battling hard up top, winning three ground duels and three aerial duels, while also making two tackles.

Although he didn't see a lot of the ball, only managing 19 touches and completing 60 per cent of his passes (three out of five), when he did have the ball, he was largely devastating.

Therefore, it is clear that Postecoglou will need Solanke over the busy Christmas period, especially after Richarlison suffered yet another injury setback.

As a result, the Spurs boss will be watching on nervously over the next couple of weeks, desperately hoping to see Solanke return to Hotspur Way at 100 per cent.

While it is always positive for a player to represent their country, Spurs already have a busy schedule, and these additional matches only increase the risk of Solanke getting injured.

And that is something which Postecoglou cannot afford at the moment.
