Bryan King believes Viktor Gyokeres could be the "perfect" addition to Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham squad.

The ex-Spurs scout has piled praise on the Sporting Lisbon number nine.

It comes after reliable Spurs insider Paul O'Keefe revealed via X (13 May) that Gyokeres is on a list of strikers under consideration by Tottenham.

And King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - believes the Spurs supporters would welcome the 25-year-old with open arms.

"Gyokeres is an excellent player," King said.

"He did very well in Sweden before moving to Coventry City where he showed his goalscoring quality.

"I think he would cost big money, but he would be the perfect player for Ange Postecoglou.

"He works hard, he is tough and I think the Spurs fans would like him."

Viktor Gyokeres would be a statement signing from Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham

Gyokeres has been one of the most prolific strikers in European football this season.

His 29 goals and 10 assists have helped fire Sporting Lisbon to the league title in Portugal.

Gyokeres was also impressive in the Championship with Coventry City, and it feels as if he has earned his chance to shine in the Premier League.

If Spurs were to offer him that chance, it would be a real statement of intent by the club.
