Tottenham: Troy Parrott finished at Spurs as Daniel Levy ready to accept summer Bundesliga switch
Tottenham striker Troy Parrott doesn't have a route back into the Spurs first team under Ange Postecoglou, according to Alan Hutton.
The 22-year-old Irish international has enjoyed a good season on loan with Excelsior in the Eredivisie, scoring seven goals and laying on three assists for his teammates in just 14 starts as they look to dodge relegation.
Reports have suggested that the striker's good form in the Netherlands hasn't gone unnoticed, with a host of Bundesliga sides keen on securing his signature next season and Spurs are expected to accept a reasonable offer [Football Insider, 7 April].
While Hutton admits Parrott may be tempted to consider his options ahead of the summer transfer window, he believes it would be best for the forward's development to move away from North London permanently.
"We seem to be speaking about the young boys quite a lot," Hutton told Tottenham News.
"I think he has been given the opportunities. It's good sometimes going out on loan, getting the minutes, getting the performances to try and build up your confidence to then come back.
"But if it's not quite happening for you, I think you always have to assess your options and think is there a pathway for me in this first team? Right now, there are a lot of people ahead of him which makes it very difficult.
"It can be a case of thinking about where can I go to help me develop the best. We've seen young players go to the likes of Italy, and Germany and really flourish and come back a better footballer so maybe that is the best option for him moving forward.
"At this moment in time, I don't see it at Tottenham so it is going to come down to the player and how he thinks he fits into the team at this moment in time."

Postecoglou has a number of excellent attacking options at his disposal in North London and while that is a huge boost for Spurs in their push for Champions League football, it does make it hard for young players to force their way in.
Although he has never been a regular starter for Tottenham, Parrott has been in and around the Spurs first team for a number of seasons now and has never shown that he can cut it at the highest level week in and week out.
While there is always a chance the 22-year-old could prove Postecoglou and Daniel Levy wrong in the future, this summer feels like the perfect time for Spurs to cut their losses and cut ties with the Irishman.
Hopefully, he goes on to succeed in the future and knowing Levy, he will manage to sneak in a couple of clauses to help his side benefit from any future sales.
