Tottenham look set to miss out on West Ham United's Mohammad Kudus this summer.

Kudus, 24, has emerged as a top target for Spurs this summer, who are looking to bolster their squad ahead of Thomas Frank's first season in charge.

The Ghanaian endured a frustrating season in East London last season, as the Hammers disappointed many expectations by finishing 14th.

Tottenham are not the only team interested in Kudus, with as many as six top clubs reportedly enquiring about the attacker's services.

Chelsea to bid for Kudus once Arsenal deal for Noni Madueke is complete

Spurs are facing stiff competition from London rivals Chelsea in their race to sign Kudus.

The Guardian is reporting that West Ham are expecting an offer from Chelsea for the Ghana international if Noni Madueke is sold to Arsenal.

Madueke, 23, has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Gunners, with Mikel Arteta's side set to continue talks with Chelsea to finalise the deal.

West Ham would prefer not to sell Kudus to Tottenham, which has opened the door for the Blues to agree a deal with the Hammers.

Spurs have had an initial £50million bid turned down by West Ham, with the possibility of Spurs triggering the attacking midfielder's reported £85m release clause not yet ruled out.

Kudus is prioritising a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham will have to pay over the odds for Kudus

Kudus is a very talented player, and it's clear as to why Spurs are hot in pursuit for his services.

However, the Ghanaian can be a frustrating player, as evidenced by his poor performance in the Premier League during the 2024/25 season.

Had this been a deal with other sides in England, it is likely that a bid close to Tottenham's £50m would have been enough to get the deal done.

However, Spurs' rivalry with the Hammers has complicated the deal, with the East London side favouring sending their star to fellow London rivals Chelsea, emphasising the hatred between the two teams.

If Thomas Frank wants Kudus as his main target this summer, Tottenham will need to pay well over the odds to complete this deal, it appears.
