Bryan King believes Tottenham could agree a cut-price deal for Sunderland gem Jobe Bellingham.

The ex-Spurs scout has been impressed by the 18-year-old's form in the Championship.

It comes after a report in The Guardian (3 June) shared that Tottenham have expressed an interest in Bellingham, with Sunderland said to be holding out for more than £20million.

But King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - claims the North London club could sign him for less.

“Bellingham has done well with Sunderland,” King said.

“To play that many games in the Championship at 18 is good going, there is definitely potential there.

“Knowing Tottenham, they will be able to sign him for less than what is being quoted.

“It would be a decent investment to see if he can cope in the Premier League."

Will Tottenham sign Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland for a reduced fee?

This would perhaps only be a worthwhile signing for Spurs if they can agree on a reduced fee.

There is a lot of hype around Bellingham, understandably due to his strong form and the profile of his brother Jude, but the Sunderland ace is still relatively unproven.

He has impressed in the Championship thus far, but £20million would be a lot of money to spend on an 18-year-old with no Premier League experience.

And that seems to just be the minimum fee that the Black Cats are after.

If Tottenham can agree to sign him for less then it would be worth going for.

But if they can't, then their money might be better spent elsewhere.
