Tottenham star Radu Dragusin is due to have surgery on his ACL injury in London soon, according to Jack Pitt-Brooke.

The Athletic reporter claimed (3 February) that the Romanian ace is set to be ruled out for the rest of the season with the injury sustained in the 3-0 Europa League win over Elfsborg (30 January).

The report states that the 23-year-old is eyeing a return in the summer to be ready for next season.

The former Genoa man has featured 28 times for Spurs so far this season due to injuries to Micky van de Ven and Christian Romero.

Tottenham reinforce their defence

With Romero and Van de Ven's fitness issues and Dragusin's latest blow, Ange Postecoglou's side were forced into action in the final days of the winter transfer window.

The Lilywhites completed the signing of Lens centre-back Kevin Danso on 2 December but failed to add a second defender on deadline day.

That was not for lack of trying with a deadline-busting £70 million bid for Marc Guehi and a loan approach for Axel Disasi.

However, Palace rejected their bid for the English international and the Frenchman picked a move to Aston Villa over the Lilywhites in a crushing blow for the Australian.

Spurs could go into Thursday's EFL Cup semi-final second-leg against Liverpool without their three best centre-backs, so it was crucial they signed at least one.

Time will tell whether they will regret not signing another before the 3 February deadline but the winter window is a difficult one to find value.
