Micky van de Ven has endured a frustrating season at Tottenham, with the defender sharing his reaction to official Manchester City transfer news.

It has been a difficult season for Tottenham, with Daniel Levy likely to sack Ange Postecoglou as a result.

However, it has also been a difficult season on a personal level for van de Ven, who left Jamie O'Hara fuming in the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday (3 April).

The Dutchman has struggled with various injury issues this season, missing much of the campaign as a result, which led to some Spurs supporters suggesting van de Ven should be sold.

Van de Ven reacts to confirmed Manchester City transfer news

Postecoglou has seen more or less each of his first-team players spend a period on the sidelines injured at one point or another this season, with the Tottenham medical staff called into question as a result.

There is no denying that Spurs are a better team with van de Ven in the starting lineup. However, considering how many games the 23-year-old has missed due to injury, Tottenham could get fed up and replace him.

However, for now, the centre-back has reacted to official transfer news elsewhere, as Kevin de Bruyne confirmed via his personal Instagram account on Friday (4 April) that he would be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season.

More than a million people liked the post, with van de Ven among them.

Van de Ven will be hoping for an injury-free season at Tottenham

With this season drawing to a close, van de Ven will be hoping to play much more regularly for Tottenham during the upcoming campaign.

The defender has only managed 11 Premier League appearances this season, and he will be hoping to more than triple that total next year.
