Tottenham are unlikely to make a move for Tyler Dibling in the winter transfer window, according to Michael Bridge.

The Sky Sports reporter reported via the broadcaster's transfer blog [21 January, 4:17pm] that although the Lilywhites are interested in the 18-year-old, they are unlikely to gain his services during the current window.

Instead, Ange Postecoglou's side will be looking to sign a striker during the window after a Dominic Solanke injury has focused their attention.

Tottenham to miss out on Tyler Dibling

It's no surprise that Spurs are interested in gaining Dibling's services during the winter transfer window, with Postecoglou really needing to add to his squad ahead of the final few months of the campaign.

Although he has had a difficult season with Southampton so far, the 18-year-old has been a rare bright spark in the Saints team and at such a young age, the youngster could be an exciting prospect to have on the books.

According to Bridge, RB Leipzig are an interested side but are not willing to pay more than £25million, which does not align with where his current club value him.

Furthermore, the teenager also has an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for the time being. The last thing Spurs need are any more sick notes at the club.

Although his future might look bright, it seems as though Tottenham will have to settle for missing out on this transfer and hope they can revisit the possibility in the summer transfer window when they are in a stronger position.
