Tottenham look set to announce that Ange Postecoglou has been sacked.

The Australian head coach has been in limbo in recent weeks as his future has continued to hang in the balance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This has seen Daniel Levy hold out before making a decision whether to sack the 59-year-old after winning the Europa League.

It finally appears that the chairman's mind is made up, as the confirmation of Postecoglou's departure appears to be in the pipeline in E20.

Postecoglou to be sacked by Tottenham

After weeks of back and forth, it looks as if the sack trigger is going to be pulled in N17 and a new face will be taking up a spot in the dugout.

This comes as Matt Law reported via X on 6 June that confirmation of Postecoglou's sack is now expected from the Lilywhites.

After just surpassing two years as head coach, after his move from Celtic, it finally appears that time is up for the Aussie.

This is likely to highly divide the fan base, with many calling for this decision after slumping to a 17th place finish in the Premier League.

With that being said, lifting silverware for the first time in over 17 years was put forward by many to explain why the head coach should remain in the role.

Regardless of any fan views, Levy has stuck to his guns and has let Postecoglou go, representing a huge risk for the chairman after public backing for the manager from players in recent weeks.

Season three may be better than season two in most cases, but that doesn't appear to mean anything for the future of the 59-year-old.

After constant links to the sack in recent weeks, the news finally looks likely to be confirmed by the Lilywhites in the coming hours.

Now, the thinking will turn to getting in a new manager to guide the North London club forward after such a difficult season.

Thomas Frank appears to be the front runner after a stellar job at Brentford, but time will tell to see who ultimately takes up the role.
