Tottenham have set their sights on signing Fluminense star Andre and are willing to let Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leave if they can land the Brazillian, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station reported online (14 November) that Spurs, alongside Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, are all in the race to sign the 22-year-old Fluminense midfielder, who is expected to be on the move as soon as January.

Should Spurs be successful in securing Andre's signature, Postecoglou would then be willing to sanction Hojbjerg's exit from the north London club.

Andre recently lifted the Copa Libertadores, as his side defeated Boca Juniors 2-1 in the final earlier in November, and already has two caps for the Brazil national team.

Ex-Spurs right-back Alan Hutton told Tottenham News:

"That's my one issue with Spurs, do they have the strength in depth if anyone gets injured? It looks at this moment in time that they don’t," he said.

"Possibly, the international break has come at a good time for them because they may get some of their players back and reassess ahead of the next game.

"It’s difficult for players, you look at the likes of Hojbjerg, he has played minutes but he has not been a regular.

"Of course, when you come in, you want to grab that opportunity with both hands but sometimes it can be difficult, and the way Tottenham play at this moment, I don’t think he suits it where in previous systems he has as he is a defensive player, but I don’t think Ange wants to play that way.”
