Ange Postecoglou's "outrageous tactics" are a great cause of Tottenham Hotspur's current run of form, according to Claude Littner.

The former Spurs CEO posted on X (19 January) in response to Spurs' 3-2 loss at Everton on 19 January, and laid the blame for their third straight defeat squarely at the Australian's door.

Accepting that a lack of quality had been signed by Daniel Levy, Littner slammed Postecoglou's recklessness, with the Lilywhites currently sitting 15th in the Premier League table.

Littner said: "A great part is the reckless manner in which Ange sets up the teams and outrageous tactics."

Ange Postecoglou not helping himself at Tottenham

While it's admirable that Postecoglou is sticking to his ideals and playing philosophy no matter what Spurs have thrown at them this season, the results are only pointing one way for the 59-year-old.

That way is clearly down, with the Lilywhites having now won just once in their last 10 Premier League matches, and seven defeats across that run making it 12 losses from just 22 games so far this term.

The Australian has pointed out that he needs assistance in the transfer window to stem the sheer flow of goals flying in at the wrong end for his side, who have the seventh-worst defence in the top flight.

Antonin Kinsky's arrival between the sticks has been met with good reviews, but the longer that injury issues at centre-back remain unresolved, Spurs will continue to ship goals like they did at Goodison Park.

Postecoglou must do his bit to avoid his young side falling further down the league, but he must also accept that by doing so, he will have to compromise slightly on his previously successful philosophy.
