Destiny Udogie could be set to leave Tottenham in the summer transfer window.

The Italian defender has been a rare positive in a dismal campaign for Ange Postecoglou's side and is widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in Europe.

However, his form has not gone unnoticed and Spurs face a battle to keep his services with elite clubs sniffing around the 22-year-old.

Tottenham set to lose Udogie after Romano update

It would be a huge loss if Udogie was to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he is the long-term solution on the left side of Spurs' defence.

A report from Fabrizio Romano (10 April) claims that Manchester City have added the Italy international to their shortlist of targets for the summer window.

It states that City recognise how hard a deal would be to reach with the Lilywhites but their interest is concrete.

Udogie could leave for Manchester City

The chance to play under Pep Guardiola is one that not many players could turn down, so Spurs may face a battle to keep Udogie if they ramp up their interest.

While the Citizens have had a poor season by their usual standards, there is every chance that they will invest heavily and bounce back next season to return to glory.

Meanwhile, at Spurs, there is uncertainty over the manager's future and how much Daniel Levy will reinforce the squad in the summer.

The squad is in need of serious upgrades, given that Spurs find themselves in 14th place in the Premier League and their only route into the Champions League is by winning the Europa League and they have been eliminated from both domestic cups.

There is no doubt that City are in a more promising position than the Lilywhites in terms of long-term success and if they are in interested in Udogie, it will be a tough job to keep him in North London.

Spurs may have to be in the market for a new left-back, which will only add to the list of positions that they have to reinforce in the window after an abysmal campaign.
