Tottenham could hire Eddie Howe if Ange Postecoglou is sacked, according to the latest bookmakers odds.

The Australian is the 2/1 favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave with Paddy Power after a run of just four wins from the last 13 matches in all competitions.

However, former Borussia Dortmund man Edin Terzic is still the 9/2 favourite to take over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if Postecoglou is given his marching orders.

Tottenham boss Postecoglou needs to turn things around

Although David Ornstein claimed on NBC Sports (5 January) that he is "100 per cent safe" at Spurs, speculation on Postecoglou's future in North London is still rife.

The pressure had eased following a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg (8 January) however being taken to extra-time by non-league Tamworth has cranked it right back up again.

The Lilywhites face arch-rivals Arsenal (15 January) before a nice run of fixtures that the Australian needs to take advantage of to salvage his stint in the dugout.

His side faces Everton, Leicester and Brentford in the Premier League with Europa League clashes against Hoffenheim and IF Elsborg sandwiched in.

If he fails to get the desired results in those matches, Postecoglou could be under major pressure to keep his job by the time the EFL Cup second leg against Arne Slot's side comes around.

Daniel Levy may decide that it is time to make a change and make a move for a promising contender such as Howe, who is succeeding in his own right.
