John Wenham has speculated that Tottenham defender Alfie Dorrington could join Westerlo on loan.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose can see further loan deals happening between Tottenham and Westerlo.

It comes after the Belgian side confirmed via X (7 November) that they had held "constructive talks" with Spurs which could allow for future collaboration between the clubs. This comes as Alfie Devine and pre-agreed Spurs signing Luka Vušković are both spending the season on loan with Westerlo.

“I find these talks between the two clubs very interesting,” Wenham said.

“It tells me that there is going to be future loan deals happening between the two sides. Therefore, I think Dorrington could be a player to benefit from this.

“He is somebody who I think is most in need of a loan at the moment.”

Therefore, it sounds as though the 19-year-old could benefit from consistent first-team football, and playing that football alongside Devine and future teammate Vušković in a competitive league such as the Belgian one could only be good for his development.

Dorrington and Vušković could eventually become a starting centre-back pairing under Ange Postecoglou, so long as the Australian remains at Spurs as talks with Daniel Levy are speculated.

Therefore, having the two young centre-backs play alongside each other and become familiar with each other could only be good news for Spurs.
