Tottenham stunned in a 3-0 win over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday.

And what a response it was from the Dutchman as Tottenham collected all three points against Everton away from home.

It was an eventful confrontation from beginning to end, and one which most Spurs and Everton supporters will struggle to forget for different reasons.

Jamie Redknapp compares Micky van de Ven to Gabriel Magalhaes

Rodrigo Bentancur was praised for assisting Micky van de Ven's first goal of the evening before the defender went on to net his second.

It was goals galore for the centre-back, who has been urged to score more for Tottenham since arriving in North London.

After his sensational display, the Dutch international is the man of the hour at Spurs in a performance which earned van de Ven comparisons to Arsenal's Gabriel Magalhaes.

  • Gabriel has netted 22 goals for Arsenal since arriving
  • He has scored two this season

Speaking on Sky Sports as a pundit on 26 October, Jamie Redknapp said: "Frank wants all the details.

"Then you've got a player like van de Ven, he's almost their Gabriel in these situations."

Not only was he excellent in front of the goal, but he was arguably Spurs' Man of the Match if Sofascore is to be believed.

He was solid defensively, making seven clearances and three interceptions against the Toffees. The centre-back was also dribbled past once and made two recoveries.

  • His passes were 90 per cent accurate
  • Both his shots resulted in goals

The defender has long been a fan favourite at Hotspur Way, and there is no doubt that his performance has earned him a few more brownie points.

Micky van de Ven breaks personal goal record against Everton

Standing at six feet and four inches, supporters have hoped to see van de Ven score more for the North London side.

  • He netted three goals during his debut season for the Lilywhites
  • van de Ven failed to score during the 2024/25 season

His double against Everton brings his tally to five in all competitions this season, which is two more goals than his 2023/24 season in 17 fewer matches.

In fact, the brace means that van de Ven is Spurs' top scorer this season, which will most likely worry Frank, while breaking his own records.

But after scoring two goals against a big Premier League side, van de Ven won't be bothered about that particular statistic.
