Tottenham fans thrilled after major Ange Postecoglou sack development

Ange Postecoglou's position at Tottenham remains uncertain despite UEFA Europa League success.

Postecoglou became a legend at Tottenham after ending a 17-year trophy drought in North London by guiding the Lilywhites to the Europa League.

As a result, Spurs will be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season, despite finishing 17th in the Premier League.

While the Europa League trophy makes the league season a little easier to forget for some Spurs supporters, Daniel Levy still has a decision to make on Postecoglou's future.

Tottenham fans celebrate Postecoglou remaining at Tottenham

Tottenham supporters have not been the only ones with a change of heart since winning the Europa League, with several players coming to Postecoglou's defence in recent days.

James Maddison believed the 59-year-old when he said he would lift silverware in his second season despite watching the final from the sidelines following a season-ending injury.

And now with the final firmly behind them, the feat of winning Spurs a trophy may have been enough to tip the scales back in Postecoglou's favour, after his exit seemed inevitable.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Saturday (31 May), the possibility of Postecoglou remaining at Tottenham has grown.

The Spurs Express was quick to share the news with supporters on X (31 May), who rejoiced at the likelihood of the current Tottenham manager continuing for at least another season.

Tottenham need to give Postecoglou one last chance

The last thing Tottenham should do is unravel the springboard that Postecoglou has already put in place by winning the Europa League.

It is rare for a manager to have the unconditional support of the supporters, the players, and self-belief in himself, and Spurs should take notice of it.

With young players coming into the squad and older ones on their way, the Lilywhites are entering a period of change.

And with a European trophy already under his belt, who is better to lead this change than the man who proved he can win with Spurs?
