Tottenham fans have been left stunned by Declan Rice's comments after Arsenal were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain.

Ange Postecoglou's side will be looking to achieve European glory by winning the UEFA Europa League this season.

Tottenham hold a 3-1 lead heading into the second leg of their semi-final against Bodø/Glimt at the Aspmyra Stadion on Thursday (8 May).

And the Lilywhites have been boosted ahead of this crunch clash after watching their fiercest rivals fail in their own pursuit of European glory.

Rice complains about injuries at Arsenal

Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by PSG at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday (7 May), with supporters of both the Gunners and Tottenham in agreement after a controversial moment in France.

This defeat meant Mikel Arteta's side crashed out of the UEFA Champions League at the semi-final stage, losing 3-1 on aggregate against the French champions after a 1-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday (29 April).

Speaking after the match, Rice appeared to be making excuses after complaining of injury issues at Arsenal this season.

Rice has been a key player for Arsenal this season

The 26-year-old said (7 May), "It's tough. We've done the whole season without five or six of our best players, so to do what we've done is unbelievable."

However, Tottenham supporters had very little sympathy and were left shocked by the suggestion that Arsenal have been without five or six of their best players.

Tottenham supporters have every right to mock Rice

Arsenal have been forced to contend with injuries this season.

Kai Havertz is a long-term absentee, while key players such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhães have faced extended spells on the sidelines.

However, for Rice to suggest that the Gunners have been without five or six of their best players for the whole season is simply ridiculous and inaccurate.

Perhaps one, two or maybe three players have been out at the same time, but that is about it. Therefore, supporters of other Premier League clubs have every right to question Rice.

However, Tottenham fans will probably be most amused by Rice's comments, as they really have suffered an injury crisis unlike anything seen before this season.
