Tottenham supporters have reacted to a post from James Maddison after an "unreal" win over Hoffenheim on Thursday.

Spurs beat their German opposition 3-2 at the PreZero Arena on 23 January in the Europa League with a goal from the Englishman and two from Son Heung-Min.

Victory against IF Elfsborg on the final matchday would secure the Lilywhites passage to the next round without having to play in the playoff round.

The 28-year-old took to X after the victory, saying: "Sticking together in adversity. Proud of this team tonight."

The England international has endured a tough season but opened the scoring with a third-minute strike in Germany.

One supporter commented that it was "one of the most hard-earned wins" that they have seen from a Spurs side and claimed the players "all looked dead" on their feet.

Another stated that they were "proud of the performance" and that the team "gave it their all despite the challenges" they have faced recently.

It has been a tough season for the Lilywhites and that has been no different for the England international.

Maddison has scored eight goals and notched four assists in 22 Premier League appearances but that does not tell the full story.

The former Leicester City star has struggled to make an impact leading to Ange Postecoglou dropping him for four league matches in a row and he was poor against Everton when he came back into the starting line-up.

He will hope that his performance against the German side will spark a revival in form but it remains to be seen whether it was just a one-off.
