Tottenham duo set for summer exits after recent heartbreak

Tottenham are preparing for a summer of change with two players already attracting interest.

Ange Postecoglou's side confirmed a 17th-place finish in the Premier League after a 4-1 defeat to Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (25 May).

This defeat, which rounded off the worst-ever Premier League season at Tottenham, came just days after Spurs won the UEFA Europa League by beating Manchester United 1-0 at the Estadio de San Mamés in Bilbao (21 May).

Losing against the Seagulls served as a much-needed reminder to Daniel Levy that there is plenty of work to do this summer, despite success in the Europa League.

Tottenham duo Jamie Donley and Josh Keeley attracting interest

Donley and Keeley spent the season on loan with Leyton Orient from Tottenham, but endured a heartbreaking end to their campaign after a 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic in the League One play-off final at Wembley on Sunday (25 May).

While Donley and Keeley were unable to make an impact on the all-important afternoon, it doesn't take away from the wonderful season the Tottenham duo have had with Leyton Orient.

Donley and Keeley were regulars at Leyton Orient

Donley produced 19 goal involvements in 52 appearances and was named Leyton Orient's Player of the Season by supporters, while Keeley kept 16 clean sheets in 47 games.

As reported by Alasdair Gold via Football London (26 May), the Spurs duo have already caught the attention of several clubs looking to sign them on loan.

Tottenham must focus on incomings this summer

While Tottenham need to loan out some of their younger players for future development, they must not forget to strengthen their current squad.

The North London club will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season after a successful Europa League campaign and must prepare accordingly.

In addition to deciding Postecoglou's future, it is up to Levy to identify targets that will put Tottenham in the best possible position to succeed next season.
