Bryan King doesn't think Timo Werner looks happy to be at Tottenham.

The ex-Spurs scout believes the North London side shouldn't have re-signed the German forward on loan.

According to Give Me Sport (28 October), Spurs will not sign Werner from RB Leipzig permanently at the end of the season, with Ange Postecoglou seeking an upgrade.

And King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - doesn't think the forward has done enough to prove he should be starting in North London.

"He doesn't look happy to be there," King said.

"Whenever he comes onto the pitch he seems to look unhappy. Perhaps he thinks he should be starting due to his reputation.

"However, he isn't proving to anybody that he deserves to be starting. In my opinion, Spurs should have thanked him for his efforts in the summer and allowed him to leave the club after last season."

Ange Postecoglou to avoid signing Timo Werner permanently at Tottenham?

Werner recently netted his first goal of the season, opening the scoring as Spurs defeated Manchester City 2-1 in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (30 October).

Therefore, if Postecoglou wants to push on at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he needs to demand an upgrade.

Signing Werner would be the cheap option for Daniel Levy. However, if the chairman wants to make his manager and fans happy, he should allow Werner to leave and loosen the purse strings next summer.
