Thomas Frank could face an early dressing room revolt at Tottenham.

Brentford's boss is the favourite to take over from the Australian and has held talks with the Spurs hierarchy already, but it won't be plain sailing.

However, his appointment would not be seamless after Tottenham players were left furious with the decision to sack the Australian.

Frank faces unenviable task as Tottenham players fume

Postecoglou guided Tottenham to their first trophy in 17 years, but that was not enough to save his standing in North London.

Talk about his future had been going on for months, with Daniel Levy holding talks with potential candidates.

One of those managers was Simone Inzaghi, who has now joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal from Inter Milan.

That has left Frank as the firm frontrunner to take over from Postecoglou, after a phenomenal stint at Brentford.

While the Dane has demonstrated his undeniable qualities to take over from the 59-year-old, he faces significant player unrest.

That is because Postecoglou's departure has angered several Tottenham players, with some wanting to leave.

Whether it is Frank or somebody else entirely, it appears that Spurs will face significant dressing room unrest this summer and revolt ahead of the new season, according to The Telegraph (6 June).

Frank has what it takes to turn Spurs players around

If anyone can turn around the disgruntled Tottenham players, it is Frank.

Since taking over as Bees manager, the 50-year-old has cast a calm and composed figure in the dugout and in front of the press.

His temperament is a particular strength of his, and he will need to channel this if he is given the reins in North London.

Frank is intelligent and will know that the players admired Postecoglou, and he would almost certainly address that upon his potential arrival.

Of course, this would be a significant step up for Frank, but he has shown he is worthy of the task.
