Sources: Tottenham agreement now in place for Ivan Perisic exit to Hajduk Split

A deal for Tottenham winger Ivan Perisic to return to his boyhood club Hajduk Split is "all done", Tottenham News has been told.

The 34-year-old has been out of action since September after he suffered a complex ACL injury which required surgery.

He managed just six appearances under Ange Postecoglou this season before he suffered his injury, grabbing two assists in that time.

A recruitment source with links to Hajduk Split has revealed to Tottenham News that an agreement for Perisic to return to the club is already in place, with Spurs having made the decision not to offer the forward a new contract once he picked up his injury.

This comes after it was reported via X by Fabrizio Romano (18 January) that talks between Tottenham and Hajduk Split were advancing to the "final stages".

Tottenham News previously revealed (24 December 2023) that Perisic was set for a summer reunion with his former club, although new information learned suggests that the transfer will be brought forward to January as the move "suits everybody involved".

Hopes are that Perisic will recover from his injury quicker back in his sunny homeland, with Croatian league-leaguers Hajduk Split set to take the player on loan until the end of the season.

The Croatia international joined Spurs on a free transfer after his deal with Serie A outfit Inter Milan expired (Sky Sports News, 1 June 2022). He signed a two-year contract with the Premier League side, which is set to expire this summer.

Perisic made 50 appearances for Tottenham across his two seasons with the club, scoring one goal and providing 14 assists in that time.

In other Tottenham news, the club will not offer a new contract to a midfielder whose deal is set to expire next year.
