Bryan King believes Son Heung-min returning against West Ham would be "encouraging" for Tottenham.

The ex-Spurs scout claims Ange Postecoglou's side have missed the South Korean forward in his absence.

Spurs will welcome Julen Lopetegui's West Ham to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (19 October).

Postecoglou was recently handed a triple injury boost, with Son one of three players expected to be back in first-team training this week (via Paul O Keefe, 10 October).

And King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - is hopeful the 32-year-old can return in time to play West Ham.

"To get your best players back for a derby is always encouraging," King said.

"He is missed because he gives Tottenham another option in the forward areas.

"His runs are good, I like the way he operates whether he is out wide or playing off of another striker. Getting a so-called star player back is pleasing, so let's hope Son is back against West Ham.

"However, we still need to see what the extent of that injury was, and whether him not travelling with the South Korea team paid off."

Son Heung-min to return for Tottenham v West Ham?

Son recently sent a two-word message to supporters ahead of the clash with the Hammers, implying that he might make his return against Spurs' fierce rivals.

Therefore, supporters will be quietly optimistic about seeing Son line up for Tottenham against West Ham.

Son did not travel with South Korea during the October international break, a decision which King was impressed by.

As a result, the forward had more time to rest and recover, which could pay off against West Ham.
