Tottenham forward Son Heung-min could be a player on the move in the January transfer window, according to ESPN.

The online news outlet reported on Tuesday (30 December) that Son, who is expected to sign a new one-year deal in North London, is one of the high-profile players to keep an eye on regarding a 2025 transfer.

Even if Spurs extend Son's deal until 2026, it is claimed that Son could still attract attention next year.

However, the report adds that, despite the South Korea international being frustrated over talks regarding his new deal, it is more likely that his future will be discussed next season.

Son Heung-min to leave Tottenham in 2025?

Debate regarding Son's future at Tottenham is nothing new. The fan favourite is technically due to become a free agent in six months' time and can therefore open talks with foreign clubs from January.

However, Spurs do have that option of extending his deal by a further 12 months and it is almost certain that will happen, if it has not already.

Beyond that, though, Daniel Levy will surely be concerned about what is next for Son. Spurs, after all, risk losing him for nothing in a year and a half.

Levy may well be tempted to cash in should a big-money offer be tabled at any point in 2025, although that is seemingly unlikely in the January window.

So while this is one to keep an eye on for now, supporters will not be overly stressed about the prospect of Son departing over the next month.
