Ange Postecoglou has a fresh concern regarding Son Heung-min after the Tottenham star was absent from training on Wednesday (23 October).

Spurs got back to winning ways by beating London rivals West Ham 4-1 in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (19 October).

It was the perfect response after their 3-2 Premier League defeat to Brighton at the Amex Stadium (6 October) ahead of the international break, even if the win did leave Postecoglou with a fresh "problem".

Therefore, the mood is likely to be high in North London. Although it felt like alarm bells were ringing after their loss against the Seagulls, Spurs have still won six of their last seven games, demonstrating that there is not much reason to be concerned at the moment.

However, that might have changed after The Athletic's Jay Harris shared an update via his personal X account on Wednesday (23 October).

Harris was present at Spurs' first-team training session, posting a photo, alongside the caption, "Son Heung-min and Djed Spence missing from Tottenham open training ahead of Europa League game against AZ Alkmaar but Wilson Odobert is here."

While the news of Odobert's return will come as a welcome boost, the absence of Son will be of big concern, especially considering he only just returned from injury against the Hammers, a match in which he thrived.

Son got back among the goals against West Ham, scoring Spurs' fourth, while his shot also forced the Hammers' own goal which put Tottenham 3-1 up.

It was the perfect return from injury for the South Korean. As per Sofascore, in addition to his goal, Son also missed one big chance and hit the woodwork, registering five shots overall.

He succeded with one dribble attempt, while he also completed 84 per cent of his passes, with two of those key. The 32-year-old was a handful for West Ham, although there was room for improvement.

He only managed to win one of his five ground duels and was dribbled past twice while all three of his crosses were inaccurate. However, he remains one of Spurs' most important players.

Postecoglou might not want to risk Son in the UEFA Europa League against AZ Alkmaar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (24 October). Therefore, his absence from training might be simply precautionary.

However, until Spurs fans have a clear answer, they are bound to worry.
