Daniel Levy is primed to pounce on a new manager, with a wealth of top candidates under consideration at Tottenham.

This comes after unsurprising reports that Levy has made a decision to sack Ange Postecoglou despite ending the Lilywhites' 17-year trophy drought.

One man who has been mooted with a move to North London is Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi, who is set to leave the Italian giants.

Indeed, the 49-year-old is set for crunch talks this week that will prick the ears of the waiting Spurs supporters.

Update on Tottenham target's future after Champions League final

Tottenham defeated Manchester United 1-0 to lift the Europa League trophy as Postecoglou delivered on his promise of silverware.

By achieving that feat, many thought the former Celtic boss would be spared, but reports suggest otherwise.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank and Fulham's Marco Silva have been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, there is an update on another target's future, that of Inter boss Inzaghi, who suffered defeat in the Champions League final.

Inzaghi held talks with the Spurs hierarchy earlier in the season, and he is set for fresh discussions with another club.

Indeed, Al-Hilal are pushing to appoint Inzaghi before the Club World Cup, and he will meet with Inter to clarify his future, according to Ben Jacobs (1 June).

He adds that the Saudi Arabian club are hoping the Italian signs this week but are forced to wait because of the Champions League final.

Whether that will trigger the Lilywhites into action remains to be seen, but if they want him, then they would need to act fast.

Spurs should go for Frank if Postecoglou leaves

While Inzaghi would be a high-calibre appointment, Frank would be a smarter move for several reasons.

Firstly, Frank knows the Premier League well, having cemented Brentford as an assured top-flight outfit.

During his time in West London, he has shown that he is a clever operator and never gets too carried away in the emotion of the game.

The Dane is pragmatic, intelligent, and speaks well to the media, something he will have to do frequently if he goes to Tottenham.

Furthermore, Frank has coached Bryan Mbeumo, who is set to leave Brentford after a stellar season.

That link would be vital if Spurs want to lure the Frenchman to North London, and Frank could be the defining factor.

Of course, Postecoglou may stay, and this would all be irrelevant, but Levy has many good options if he does pull the trigger.
