Alan Shearer has slammed Tottenham for their set-piece defending for the Arsenal equaliser on Wednesday.

The Lilywhites fell to a frustrating 2-1 North London Derby defeat on 15 January despite an opening goal from Son Heung-Min after 25 minutes.

Leandro Trossard scored the eventual winner after a Dominic Solanke own goal drew the clash level in controversial circumstances.

Regardless of the referee's decision over the corner, Shearer has torn into Spurs on Match of the Day (15 January) for their defending from the set-piece.

He said: "Again, Tottenham concede from the corner. What they do is they try to reduce the numbers, leave two up, but again they're all over the place.

"Gabriel and Dragusin, he [Gabriel] wants it more, he knows he's got the flight of the ball and again, Spurs were weak at a set-piece and were punished again."

It will come as a blow for Ange Postecoglou that his side conceded such a sloppy goal from a corner that shouldn't have been given.

Regardless of the controversy surrounding the decision, Spurs still needed to defend better and they didn't do that from a corner against Arsenal once again.

The Gunners are the best team in the Premier League from corners and yet the Lilywhites didn't seem to understand the threat that they posed despite previous derby warnings.

Gabriel was easily able to win the first ball which resulted in the own goal, summing up the N17 club's fortunes at the moment.
