Ryan Mason has made his feelings about former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou clear.

The 34-year-old departed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to take up a role as a head coach for the first time, with West Bromwich Albion.

This departure was matched by the sacking of the Australian manager, whom Daniel Levy opted to move on despite his heroic Europa League success.

Since then, there has been general radio silence from both parties on each other, with Mason now speaking out for the first time at The Hawthorns.

Mason discusses Postecoglou after Tottenham exit

It was little surprise to many when the ex-Celtic boss was shown the door after a largely terrible campaign in North London.

Despite lifting silverware in Bilbao, finishing 17th in the Premier League was something that just couldn't be ignored by many, including the Spurs chairman.

This has seen Thomas Frank come in with a fresh approach and coaching staff, something which has ultimately allowed Mason to move on.

The former midfielder has linked up with the Baggies and is now preparing for his maiden voyage as a manager in the Championship.

Ahead of his debut clash against Blackburn Rovers, the Englishman has spoken out to The Telegraph (7 August) and has been able to share his admiration for Postecoglou.

He said: "It was incredible for me to be a part of his team. I learned a hell of a lot, not just from a football side, but from a human side as well, which is important.

"We’ve got a bond that will never be broken because we won together and we created history together."

Mason has Tottenham backing at West Brom

There will be no supporter associated with the Lilywhites who won't want to see the academy graduate succeed in his new venture.

There is yet to be any additions from Spurs to the Albion this summer, despite constant links for Mikey Moore before his eventual move to Rangers.

Regardless of that, it is excellent to see Mason speak so highly of what Postecoglou did for Spurs despite the frustration throughout most of last season.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the Englishman can now get on and how Frank can follow up from the Aussie in N17 moving forward.
