Roy Keane has aimed another dig at Tottenham star James Maddison as the public beef rages on.

Keane blasted Maddison ahead of the Premier League showdown between Spurs and Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 16 February.

Maddison responded in perfect style, scoring the match-winner in a 1-0 victory for Ange Postecoglou's side, before celebrating by putting his finger to his lips and performing his signature darts throw straight down the camera.

However, it seems as though the Englishman hasn't had the last laugh, as Keane has once again hit out at the playmaker.

Following the victory over Manchester United, Maddison was left on the bench for Spurs' 4-1 Premier League win over Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday (22 February).

And Keane made sure to refer to this in a clip promoting the upcoming episode of 'Stick to Football', shared via WeAreTheOverlap's official X account on Wednesday (26 February).

When asked about Maddison's celebration, the ex-Manchester United captain said, "Good on him, absolutely, no problem.

"I still stand by what I said, I don't think he does enough of that. However, when he scored, I was at home with my cup of tea and I went, good on you. No problem. If people have a go at you, you answer them back. I was hoping he was going to do the same the other day but he was a substitute against Ipswich.

This caused Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Ian Wright and Jill Scott to burst into laughter, before Keane then turned to the camera and copied Maddison's darts celebration.

Maddison must prove Keane wrong once again

Maddison will be wondering what exactly he has done to deserve so much stick from Keane. However, the 28-year-old can't have too many complaints, as he too is guilty of a bit of banter at times, recently aiming a dig at Ipswich Town after Spurs' win at Portman Road.

Therefore, Keane will no doubt think this is fair game, as most of the Ipswich fans probably will too.

However, if Maddison wants to silence Keane, it seems as though all he can do is continue to provide goals and assists for Tottenham, as it appears as though the one strike against United wasn't enough to impress Keane.

And if the two were to meet for a face-to-face interview any time soon, that would certainly produce box office numbers, with this feud just the latest storyline to underline Spurs' frustrating campaign.
