Roberto De Zerbi is again being linked with Tottenham Hotspur as Igor Tudor gets ready for the Liverpool game on Sunday.

The Croatian manager is under extreme pressure ahead of facing the Reds at Anfield on 15 March, with his sacking almost inevitable at the North London outfit.

Spurs are in realistic danger of getting relegated from the Premier League and the former Juventus boss has arguably shown nothing to suggest he can help them avoid the drop.

De Zerbi is now a candidate for Tottenham, but fans in N17 don't seem keen on the former Brighton & Hove Albion boss' possible appointment.

There are some who feel the former Olympique Marseille boss' arrival at Spurs would be a disaster, with the potential decision to replace Tudor with him expected to blow up.

The Italian manager doesn't seem to be a popular choice among the Lilywhites' fanbase, with claims that there are better managers like Michael Carrick and Robbie Keane out there.

For what it’s worth, I’d have a shortlist of 3 in the summer; Poch, Iraola, De Zerbi.

So I think he’d broadly be a sensible choice. High ceiling, downside being it possibly blows up.

Spurs must ride out Premier League worry as perfect managerial candidate emerges

Tottenham must find a way to avoid the drop in the short term and then plan for the long term in the summer.

If someone can come in on an interim basis and achieve top-flight safety, then Spurs should go for Mauricio Pochettino after the 2026 World Cup.

The Argentine head coach feels like the perfect candidate to restore stability at the club he took to the Champions League final not long ago.
