Richard Keys is adamant he knows the perfect replacement for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

Postecoglou is a man living on borrowed time at Spurs after losing 5-1 to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday (27 April).

Tottenham are 16th in the Premier League with four matches to go, with West Ham United the only side between themselves and the relegation zone.

While Spurs do at least have the Europa League to keep their campaign alive, it is clear that Postecoglou is heading for the sack in North London.

Keys names Scott Parker as ideal Postecoglou replacement

In the view of Keys, Scott Parker would be a great replacement for Postecoglou given his work at other clubs in English football - namely in the Championship.

Parker has just guided Burnley to the Premier League, just as he did Fulham and Bournemouth previously.

When asked by Andy Gray on beIN SPORTS (27 April, 6:58pm) who could realistically replace Postecoglou, Keys replied: "Scott Parker. He's bright, young, English...."

Keys said Spurs would be silly to stick with Postecoglou, adding: "It'd be like when Manchester United backed Erik ten Hag and we all knew from the moment they made that decision it was wrong and how it'd end.

"That'd be the case here. I've heard Scott Parker's name mentioned. That'd be a very sensible thing for Scott to do if that opportunity came up."

Tottenham's Premier League record

The Englishman, who previously played for Tottenham, has had success with Fulham, Bournemouth and now Burnley - albeit in the second tier.

His Premier League record has been far less impressive, but Parker has doubled down on his playing style this season and made his Burnley side one of the strongest defensive units in English football history.

That could be something that benefits Spurs in the long term, although supporters would have a major reality check in comparison to the style of play they have become accustomed to under Postecoglou.
