Radu Drăgușin decision made - Tottenham XI v Wolves

Ange Postecoglou has been handed a boost as Radu Drăgușin starts for Tottenham against Wolves in the Premier League.

Postecoglou is in desperate need of three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 29 December with supporters expected to turn on the manager in the event of a defeat.

While he maintains the backing of the club for now [via the Daily Mail, 28 December], there is an understanding that results must improve.

Therefore, the fact that Postecoglou can start Drăgușin, a decision confirmed via Spurs' official X account (29 December), is a huge boost.

Drăgușin was a doubt heading into the clash with Wolves, which led to speculation on a potential selection decision that supporters branded "pathetic".

However, John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News that he expected Drăgușin to start, a decision which has now been confirmed.

As per Sofascore, Drăgușin made two interceptions and blocked one shot in the 1-0 Premier League defeat against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Thursday (26 December).

In addition, he completed 86 per cent of his passes, with one of those key, and won three of his four aerial duels, although he did lose both of his ground duels.

However, no matter how he played, Postecoglou would have been desperate to get the Romanian back on the pitch considering the lack of options he has at centre-back right now.

And while it could be a risk to start Drăgușin, Postecoglou was left with little choice.
