Ange Postecoglou's hopes of remaining Tottenham manager have taken a big hit after a development in London.

It is looking increasingly likely that Daniel Levy will sack Postecoglou.

Thanks to an agreement at Tottenham, Levy would be able to save some money on the compensation that he would need to pay Postecoglou if he sacks the Australian before next season.

Therefore, it looks as though a decision could be made sooner rather than later, with the odds of Postecoglou becoming the next Premier League manager to be sacked crashing after a recent development.

Postecoglou sack odds crash after Tottenham development

Ahead of the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday (3 April), an update emerged on when Postecoglou might be sacked by Tottenham.

However, after yet another disappointing night for Spurs in West London, as Postecoglou once again clashed with Tottenham supporters, that process could now be accelerated.

After suffering their 16th defeat of the Premier League season, Spurs' hopes of qualifying for European football via their league position look to be over.

As a result, the odds of Postecoglou being the next Premier League manager to get sacked have been slahed following the defeat at Stamford Bridge.

SkyBet have the 59-year-old as the second favourite Premier League boss to be sacked next at odds of 2/1, with Ruud van Nistelrooy leading the way at 11/10.

Postecoglou looks to be finished at Tottenham

It is difficult to see how Postecoglou turns things around from this point.

Plenty of people would argue that winning the UEFA Europa League could save the former Celtic manager in North London. However, based on Spurs' recent displays and the mood around the club, there is incredibly little to suggest that this is even a possibility.

As a result, it looks as though Postecoglou's days at Tottenham are numbered.
