Ange Postecoglou will be eyeing Josh Keeley as a long-term replacement for Guglielmo Vicario at Tottenham after what he did for Leyton Orient on Saturday.

The O's' FA Cup run appeared to be coming to an end in the second round as opponents Oldham went into the added after 90 minutes with a one-goal lead on 30 November, but Keeley emerged as the unlikely goalscoring hero as he equalised with a header seconds before full-time.

His heroics paid off as a late Dan Agyei goal in extra time then saw Leyton claim a 2-1 win and progress into the third run of the cup.

Postecoglou has long-term Vicario solution sorted after Tottenham keeper heroics today

It is not often you see goalkeepers scoring in football and Tottenham would be delighted to see one of their own do it on a big occasion for a club like Leyton.

As rare as it is, it requires a certain level of composure for a shot-stopper to find the back of the net in a time of need for his side and Keeley can certainly take pride in it.

By netting a crucial goal for The O's, the 21-year-old showed that he has the mentality to perhaps take the number one spot from Vicario someday in North London.

It is worth noting that this is not the first Keeley's heroics have won Leyton a crucial game as he emerged as the penalty shootout star when they faced Boreham Wood in the first round of the FA Cup on 3 November.

After the game ended in a 2-2 draw, the Irishman saved Tom Whelan's opening spot-kick, thus paving the way for a 3-1 win in penalties for his side.
