Levy dishes out yet another P45 in new Tottenham sack on Saturday

Ange Postecoglou looks set to be followed out the exit door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham sacked Postecoglou on Friday (6 June) after the Australian oversaw the Lilywhites' worst-ever Premier League campaign, as the North London club finished 17th with 38 points.

It looked as though winning the UEFA Europa League might have given Postecoglou a lifeline.

However, the shame of Tottenham's domestic form, which saw them set a record for the most defeats (22) without relegation, appears to have been too much for Daniel Levy to ignore.

Now, the Spurs chairman has identified his next victim as huge sack news emerges from North London.

Scott Munn has been sacked by Tottenham

Munn was appointed Chief Football Officer at Tottenham in 2023 from City Football Group's Chinese operations.

He has since overseen several changes across the club and was involved in the controversial decision to dismiss head of medicine Geoff Scott last year.

Munn led the internal review that ended Scott's tenure, but if anything, the injury record at Tottenham became worse after his departure.

It now seems that it has been one too many bad decisions from Munn, and Levy has identified him as the next victim of Spurs' summer shake-up.

As reported by Tom Barclay (7 June), Munn has been shown the exit door just hours after Postecoglou.

Munn and Postecoglou join Donna-Maria Cullen as the latest senior figures to leave Spurs after she stepped down from her role as executive director.

Levy has made several changes at Tottenham

Munn, along with Postecoglou, has borne the brunt of the criticism for Spurs' recent performances.

Indeed, Munn has been criticised for his role in the upheaval of the medical department, which did little to fix the injury crisis. Meanwhile, Postecoglou was accused of straining players with his intensive approach to football.

The injuries suffered this season, as well as Tottenham's domestic form, seem to have sealed both their exits this summer.

Along with their departures, Levy's latest resuffle will see Vinai Venkatesham join the club from Arsenal as Chief Executive Officer. He has already been credited with behind-the-scenes changes after noticeable amendments to Spurs' communications department.

But with no clear manager to take over from Postecoglou and little information on who will slot into Munns' role, Levy may come to regret his decisions.
