James Maddison could seek an exit from Tottenham this summer.

Ange Postecoglou's side will be desperate for victory against Arsenal in the Premier League at the Emirates on Wednesday (15 January). However, Jamie Carragher isn't so optimistic about Spurs' chances.

Ahead of the match, Postecoglou has made the call to leave Maddison on the bench, marking the fourth consecutive Premier League match in which the England international has failed to make the starting lineup.

As a result, a lot of supporters have been left confused, with one even suggesting that Maddison could now look to move on from Spurs after just two seasons at the club.

James Maddison to demand Tottenham exit after being left out v Arsenal?

Maddison has eight goals and four assists in the Premier League this season. However, Postecoglou is clearly seeing something he doesn't like.

It hasn't been the best couple of months for Spurs' number 10, with recent calls for the midfielder to be banned after a social media spat with one supporter. However, despite this incident, it appears as though a lot of fans would have still preferred to see Maddison start against the Gunners.

Maddison has already been tipped to spearhead a Tottenham clearout this summer, with previous suggestions that the 28-year-old is unhappy at the club.

And it appears as if this speculation is only going to get stronger as the midfielder continues to miss out on big games such as a North London derby.

Therefore, if Postecoglou wants to keep the playmaker, he might need to start handing him more minutes. However, if Maddison remains on the bench, it would be a sign that his manager is perhaps happy to let him leave.
