Bryan King expects Tottenham star James Maddison to be left out against Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday.

The ex-Spurs scout has speculated that the midfielder is "unhappy" in North London at the moment.

Maddison started Spurs' 3-2 UEFA Europa League defeat to Galatasaray at RAMS Park on Thursday (7 November), with one of the midfielder's teammates slammed for his "horrendous" performance on the night.

And King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - doesn't think the 27-year-old looked best-pleased as he was hooked in the second half.

"I think Postecoglou was right to bring Maddison off," King said.

"However, Maddison looked unhappy with that decision as he came off the pitch. I think the lineup against Ipswich will depend on what injuries they've got.

"It doesn't look as though there are any fresh concerns. Therefore, if everybody is fit, I think Maddison will struggle to get into the starting lineup."

It appears as though Maddison might be falling out of favour in North London.

He was left out of the 4-1 Premier League win against Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this past Sunday (3 November), and he could once again miss out when the Tractor Boys visit that same ground this Sunday (10 November).

While some might not agree with the decision to leave him out, it is hard to argue against it at the moment.

When he has played in recent weeks, he hasn't done much to suggest he should be starting. He was nowhere to be seen against Galatasaray and struggled to make an impact on the game.

Therefore, if Maddison wants to earn his place back in the Premier League squad, he needs to start turning things around and performing on the pitch.
