John Wenham has called for Ange Postecoglou and his staff to work on Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario's weaknesses.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the 27-year-old has an issue dealing with balls into the box.

However, Wenham - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - still wants Postecoglou to address the goalkeeper's flaws.

“It is a very frustrating situation with Vicario,” Wenham said.

“He is quite rightly regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League. However, he has this issue with crosses coming into the box.

“That is obviously problematic. Therefore, it is something that Postecoglou and his staff need to be working on.

“Vicario is part of the leadership group behind the scenes, he is clearly seen as a key player. I do think that he is an outstanding goalkeeper, but this is something which needs to be addressed.”

Ange Postecoglou to help Guglielmo Vicario improve at Tottenham?

At times, Vicario looks like one of the best goalkeepers in the world, recently being praised for his display as Spurs beat Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford (29 September).

However, there are moments where he no doubt fills his back-four with plenty of nerves. Therefore, there is still a lot of work for the Italy international to do.

He is only 27, which is relatively young for a goalkeeper. As a result, should he address his flaws, he could be the Spurs number one for years to come, with Bryan King speculating that he might be keen on signing a new contract in North London already.

However, those flaws do need to be addressed, and that is up to Postecoglou, his staff, and Vicario himself.
