Giovani Lo Celso has proven to Ange Postecoglou that he deserves one last opportunity at Tottenham.

Lo Celso has struggled to produce consistently in North London.

Despite moments of promise, his near-five year stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been largely unsuccessful.

He has been loaned out twice and struggled under multiple managers, with Postecoglou hardly using the midfielder last season.

Lo Celso started just four times in the Premier League and only managed to make 22 appearances overall in the competition, scoring twice while providing two assists.

However, despite his struggles at club level, the 28-year-old continues to be selected for Argentina.

And his recent display suggests he perhaps deserves one last chance to prove himself at Tottenham.

It is a mystery how Lo Celso is continuously selected to feature for the current World Cup and Copa America holders but is unable to get minutes for Spurs.

And when he does play for Argentina, he often plays well.

That was the case once again recently as the playmaker started for his nation in their 1-0 win over Ecuador on Sunday (9 June).

As per Sofascore, Lo Celso completed 86 per cent of his passes, with two of those key, and played four accurate longs balls forward from five attempts.

In addition, he chipped in well defensively, winning 11 of his 15 ground duels and 100 per cent of his aerial duels.

He also made five tackles and three interceptions in what was a hard-working defensive display combined with a little bit of flair.

Lo Celso's long-term future is uncertain at Tottenham, but if he can produce in the way he does for Argentina, he can certainly be a useful squad option for Postecoglou next season.

He only has a year remaining on his contract, but perhaps it would be wise to keep him around and see if he can finally shine in a Spurs shirt next season.
