Tottenham have endured a tough transfer window when it comes to signing an attacking talent.

Morgan Gibbs-White was an early Spurs target, but Nottingham Forest's stance on the England international made a move impossible.

Thomas Frank's side have since missed out on Eberechi Eze, meaning they are still on the lookout for reinforcements.

However, their transfer misery may end as Florentino Perez could inadvertently pave the way for Savinho in North London.

Tottenham determined to land Savinho from Man City

Spurs were dealt a blow in signing Savinho, with Pep Guardiola seemingly wanting him to stay at the Etihad Stadium.

However, the situation could change between now and the end of the transfer window, which closes on 1 September.

Last season, the Brazilian enjoyed an encouraging first season in England, notching 14 goal contributions in all competitions.

However, the right-winger was absent from Guardiola's opening day squad as they thrashed Wolves 4-0 at Molineux.

Tottenham are determined to press on with a move for Savinho, according to the Daily Mail (21 August).

The publication reports that he has always been a target separate from Eze and is valued by City at £67million.

Furthermore, it is said a deal will be more likely if Guardiola is successful in his chase of Rodrygo from Real Madrid.

Daniel Levy is therefore relying on opposite number Florentino Perez at Madrid to help soothe the pain of missing out on Eze.

Spurs cannot afford to miss out on any more targets after Eberechi Eze debacle

Time is running out for Spurs to secure more signings, and they simply cannot miss out on any more targets.

There is just over a week left before the window closes, and the Lilywhites still need attacking players.

James Maddison could miss Tottenham's entire season after he ruptured his ACL against Newcastle United in pre-season.

Moreover, the North Londoners are competing on all fronts this season and therefore need added quality and depth.

  • Spurs have missed out on Gibbs-White and Eze
  • Maddion will be out for a significant amount of time
  • Savinho could still be an option

In Savinho, they would get that, and if they want him badly enough, then that could be enough to lure him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, dally any longer and Spurs will not be ready to compete as expected.
