Daniel Levy will be beaming at the new transfer Tottenham have just agreed.

The Tottenham Chairman has had his fair share of wins this summer.

Luka Vuskovic stunned spectators in Spurs' first friendly against Reading while Mohammed Kudus looked sharp.

But it has not been all smooth sailing with the Lilywhites missing out on several signings. As a result, Levy will take all the wins that he can get, as a positive new transfer is announced.

Ashley Phillips returns to Stoke City on loan

Tottenham have announced that Ashley Phillips has rejoined Championship side Stoke City on loan for the 2025/26 season.

The defender became a fan favourite at the bet365 Stadium last season, making 39 appearances in all competitions and scoring once.

Spurs will be hoping this furthers the defender's development, and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes it is excellent business.

“Injuries aside, Phillips could play 45 or 50 games this year,” Wenham said.

“For me, that adds up to another £5million onto his value. I think Tottenham are still in control of the situation. In the future, he’ll count as a homegrown and club-trained player as well. So I just think this is a really good move to continue his development.

“At the end of the season, he could have more than 100 Championship appearances under his belt as a 20-year-old centre-back, which is phenomenal experience. So I think it's an outstanding move.”

Phillips could be sold after his loan

Tottenham are stacked in the defensive department. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are guaranteed starters, while Kevin Danso and Ben Davies are good rotational options.

Meanwhile, Vuskovic has shown that he could become a key player for Spurs. With Kota Takai also arriving at Hotspur Way this summer, it is difficult to see where Phillips fits.

As a result, Levy could cash in on the Englishman after the completion of his loan at Stoke.
