Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou talks mooted amid Eddie Howe speculation at Tottenham

Bryan King has speculated that Daniel Levy has made guarantees to Ange Postecoglou over his position at Tottenham.

The ex-Spurs scout doesn't think Postecoglou will be bothered by speculation surrounding his future.

According to Alan Nixon via Patreon (13 October) Eddie Howe could soon be on Spurs' radar should Amanda Staveley get into a position of power at the club, which is looking increasingly likely.

However, King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - thinks Levy will have moved quickly to squash that speculation behind the scenes.

“I would think Postecoglou ignores that kind of speculation,” King said.

“I don’t think it’ll worry him reading that kind of stuff, he doesn’t seem that type to me. I’m sure he has had a guarantee from Levy in a conversation about this.

“That is if he has even bothered to ask him. If I were Postecoglou, I wouldn’t. You write what you write but I’m not interested in it, that will be his attitude.”

Eddie Howe to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?

It would be understandable if Postecoglou were to have asked for assurances over his future at Tottenham.

However, at this moment in time, it would make little sense for Spurs to try and appoint Howe. Considering the Englishman is the current manager of Newcastle United, a close rival of Spurs, a deal looks as if it would be incredibly complicated.

In addition, there is no guarantee that Howe would do a significantly better job than what Postecoglou is doing, while a team has already begun to be built in the Australian's image.

Therefore, Postecoglou shouldn't worry much about this outside noise, and must instead continue to focus on the task at hand.
