Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that James Maddison is "fine" ahead of the Premier League meeting between Tottenham and Luton Town on Saturday 7 October.

Spurs will look to continue their unbeaten start to the league campaign at Kenilworth Road this Saturday.

And the availability of star man Maddison, who has had some fitness concerns in recent weeks, will go a long way in deciding the result.

The England international has been involved in four goals during Spurs' last three away games.

When asked if Maddison was being wrapped in cotton wool during his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou responded by saying "No cotton wool here, just barbed wire mate. Maddison is fine, he's trained in every session this week," via quotes reported by Football London (6 October).

Alan Hutton spoke to Tottenham News about Maddison:

"He has been outstanding.

"The manager has given him that lease of life to go on and just express himself, and I think that is the one area that Tottenham have been missing for a number of years now.

"To have a player like that, with that creative mindset and the freedom to go and express himself and try and get goals, shooting from outside the box, and he can see a pass, he has shown it for a number of weeks now and he is really hitting the levels that we all knew he could get to and he's going to be an outstanding player moving forward.

"He has a great relationship with the likes of Son, which is only going to help him moving forward."
