Thomas Frank appears to be preparing for life as Tottenham manager with everything heading in the right direction.

Frank will be leaving Brentford after seven successful years at the West London club.

The Dane guided the Bees to the Premier League and helped them become mainstays in the top flight rather than going back down a year later.

Justin Cochrane makes decision to join Frank at Spurs

He worked at Spurs' academy for a number of years, including roles with the Under-11s, U12s, U14s, U16s, and U23s.

The Englishman then moved to Brentford in 2022 and became an important part of Frank's coaching setup.

With the Dane leaving the G-Tech Community Stadium, he wanted Cochrane to also move to North London with him.

Brentford tried to keep the 43-year-old at the club by potentially including him in the shortlist to be the next manager, but have failed in their pursuits.

As Spurs reached an agreement with the Bees to pay £10million for Frank, Cochrane has decided that he will be moving with the former Brondby manager. [Ben Jacobs, 12 June]

Cochrane will bring valuable insights to the coaching team at Tottenham

Cochrane’s appointment to Frank’s coaching staff at Tottenham is a significant boost due to his extensive experience and reputation as a highly regarded young coach.

At 43, Cochrane brings a wealth of expertise from his time at Tottenham’s academy, Manchester United, and Brentford, where he has served as Head of Coaching since 2022.

His ability to develop elite players, like Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, enhances Frank’s squad-building vision, aligning with Tottenham’s focus on young talent.

Cochrane’s innovative coaching style, praised for introducing fresh ideas from observing top European clubs, adds dynamism to training sessions.

His part-time role with Thomas Tuchel’s England setup further underscores his credibility.

Having worked with Frank at Brentford, Cochrane ensures continuity, while his prior Spurs experience fosters familiarity.

His focus on individual player development and vibrant coaching energy will strengthen Frank’s staff, driving Tottenham’s ambitions.
