Tottenham fans have been left fuming after James Maddison was once again benched for Tottenham against Wolves in the Premier League.

Postecoglou has been handed a boost with one doubtful player able to start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 29 December.

Therefore, he will breathe a slight sigh of relief as the Australian is in desperate need of three points with supporters expected to turn on the Spurs boss in the event of a defeat against Wolves.

However, it seems as though Postecoglou has already lost the trust of some fans before a ball has even been kicked in North London.

As confirmed via Spurs' official X account (29 December), the 59-year-old has made the decision to once again leave Maddison on the bench for a Premier League game.

And this is a decision which hasn't gone down well among supporters.

Ange Postecoglou benches James Maddison for Tottenham v Wolves

This is the third time Maddison has been named on the bench in Spurs' past five Premier League games.

As a result, it is no surprise that the Englishman is expected to be unhappy in North London. However, it is perhaps a surprise just unhappy fans are about how the player is being treated.

Fans are fuming that Maddison has been once again benched, with one supporter even calling call for Postecoglou to be sacked as a result of the decision.

Maddison has already been mooted to leave the club next summer, and if he continues to not start, it wouldn't be a surprise to see that happen.
