Ange Postecoglou could have a star on his hands at Tottenham in the form of George Abbott.

Spurs supporters have plenty of talented young players to get excited about in North London.

One of those players, midfielder Abbott, is currently playing his football with Notts County.

Just a matter of days after Spurs announced via the club's official website (29 August) that Abbott had joined County, the 19-year-old made his debut for the EFL League Two side.

He was introduced off the bench during a 2-1 win at Swindon Town (31 August), and after the final whistle had blown, footage emerged of the youngster getting acquainted with his brand-new supporters.

Abbott has since made his first start for Notts County, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley at Meadow Lane on Saturday (7 September).

And based on the reaction to his first start in senior men's football, it is clear to see that Postecoglou should be keeping a close eye on Abbott ahead of next season.

George Abbott to shine at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou

Notts County boss, Stuart Maynard, told Pies Player (via Tottenham Hotspur's Official Website, 9 September), "He's got a very bright future. If you see his energy...his game understanding on the ball to come and play here today in front of probably just under 11,000 as your home debut, as a young lad, and to perform... he played like a mature player.

"The way he handled the ball, the way he passed the ball, the way he presses and the way he understands the positions to pick up to go and press. It's incredible for such a young lad and we're very lucky to have him."

Abbott has already made an impression on Maynard. Therefore, Notts County and Tottenham supporters should expect to see a lot of the midfielder this season.

Against Accrington Stanley, Abbott completed 92 per cent of his passes, won six of his eight ground duels and completed 100 per cent of his dribbles (Sofascore).

Should Abbott continue to impress, he could work his way into Postecoglou's first-team plans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
