Tyrese Hall must be in Ange Postecoglou's first-team plans at Tottenham next season.

Spurs and Newcastle played out a 1-1 draw in a post-season friendly at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia on Wednesday (22 May).

The Magpies would go on to win the contest via a penalty shoot-out, but despite the defeat, it was far from a wasted trip for Postecoglou.

While he wouldn't have learnt too much about the senior players in his team, the Australian was allowed to find out a bit more about some of the youngsters within his ranks.

The likes of Ashley Phillips, George Abbott, Jamie Donley, Yago Santiago and Dane Scarlett were all handed a considerable number of minutes in front of 70,000-plus spectators.

But it was Hall's 19-minute cameo inside the MCG which would have really caught Postecoglou's eye.

And his bright form this year was rewarded with a spot on the plane to Australia.

While he wasn't handed as many minutes as some of his Under-21 colleagues Down Under, the 18-year-old did the best with the time he had.

Hall replaced Radu Dragusin in the 71st minute and took up the number six role in the Tottenham midfield.

As per Football London (23 May), "His performance was that impressive that within an hour of the full-time whistle, a compilation of all of his touches of the ball against Newcastle appeared on social media."

But what stood out most was the midfielder's penalty kick.

As he stepped up, Hall appeared completely unfazed before slotting the ball straight down the middle with relative ease.

For a player so young, he looked incredibly mature and composed.

And after his cameo display, Hall definitely deserves a position on the pre-season tour ahead of a potential first-team promotion next season.
