Ange Postecoglou has made a baffling James Maddison decision in his Tottenham team to take on Ipswich Town.

Spurs will be looking to make it three Premier League wins on the bounce against the Tractor Boys at Portman Road on Saturday 22 February.

After a host of players returned from injury in the 1-0 Premier League win over Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, the North London side should be confident about picking up results over the coming weeks and beginning to climb the Premier League table.

However, Postecoglou's decision regarding Maddison could negatively impact the result in Ipswich.

Postecoglou axes Maddison in three changes for Tottenham v Ipswich

In addition, he completed 86 per cent of his passes, with one of those key, won four ground duels, and made one tackle and one interception [Sofascore]. He did only succeed with 50 per cent of his attempted dribbles and fail to provide an accurate cross into the box.

However, his goal was the difference, which makes Postecoglou's decision to leave the midfielder out against Ipswich a strange one, with Brennan Johnson coming into the side.

In the other two changes, Destiny Udogie returns for Pedro Porro, while Ben Davies makes way for Archie Gray at centre-back.

Tottenham need to pick up three points against Ipswich

As a result, while there is little left to play for in the Premier League, with the UEFA Europa League now the primary focus, Spurs need to start winning games.

Ipswich have struggled all season and are currently in the bottom three. Therefore, there is little excuse for Spurs not to win today, especially with plenty of players now back from injury.
