Tottenham have stunk up the Premier League this season, but their overall campaign has been a success.

Ange Postecoglou became the first Tottenham manager since Juande Ramos to win major silverware when Spurs beat Manchester United to win the Europa League in Bilbao earlier this week.

Brennan Johnson's scrappy first-half goal was enough to write the ex-Celtic boss into Spurs history and end what has been a barren 17 years without a trophy.

However, Postecoglou's success is on a backdrop of uncertainty, disappointment and anger with widespread reports emerging about his future throughout most of the season due to Spurs' rotten form in the Premier League.

'Postecoglou is getting sacked' as Levy releases statement

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy released a statement ahead of the season-ending clash against Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (25 May).

In that statement, Levy says no more than a "thanks" to Postecoglou, his coaching team and the players for the "incredible achievement" of winning the Europa League.

Year won
Europa League2024/25
FA Cup1990/91
League Cup1998/99, 2007/08
Community Shield1991 (shared with Arsenal)
Tottenham's silverware since 1990

Postecoglou hasn't been backed, Levy hasn't said anything about the future with the Aussie in charge and, ultimately, it seems like a very carefully-worded statement that won't backfire no matter what happens.

Tottenham fans, however, think this is it for Postecoglou.

One boldly claimed that "Ange is getting sacked" while another believes the lack of clarity around the manager's future is a "disgrace".

Who will be the next Tottenham manager?

Brentford manager Thomas Frank is currently the odds-on favourite to replace Postecoglou in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked with a return to North London while Oliver Glasner, Xavi Hernandez, Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola have all been mentioned at various points since the start of the calendar year.
