Ange Postecoglou has a talent on his hands at Tottenham in the form of George Abbott.

Abbott is currently playing his football in League Two with Notts County, where he has already made 12 appearances since joining the club on a season-long loan from Tottenham.

Captain of Spurs' Under-21s last season, Abbott is making quite the impression at Meadow Lane, which has seen him compared with previous Notts County loan stars Jack Grealish and Ryan Yates (via BBC Sport, 15 November).

And the 19-year-old has detailed just how delighted he is to be compared with such players.

Abbott told BBC East Midlands Today (via BBC Sport, 15 November), "It's always an amazing thing for the fans to sort of compare me to the brilliant players that have moved on from Notts County to where they are now.

"I hope I can carry on from where they left off, be my own player and get to the level they are now."

It is clear from Abbott's performances this season, and his mature response to such flattering comparisons, that Spurs have quite a talent on their hands, who appears to have the right mentality to succeed.

Therefore, Postecoglou would be unwise to ignore the young midfielder and should be keeping a close eye on his progress in Nottingham.

Should Abbott continue to shine for the club, Tottenham have been mooted to recall the youngster and find another club for him to play his football with from January, one higher up the pyramid.

However, remaining with County could also prove to be just as beneficial for Abbott.

The Spurs youngster will be turning 20 at the beginning of next season. Therefore, at that point, he might already be a viable option for Postecoglou's first team.

Spurs' manager has proven this season that he is willing to give young players a chance, and after a full season of senior men's football, Abbott might return to Hotspur Way ready to make the step up.
